Central Hudson Tree Trimming in Rhinebeck – Provided by Village of Rhinebeck

Central Hudson and their private contractors have returned to the Village and Town to trim trees along power lines. For the next several months, you may see them working along our streets and roads.
The Village Tree Commission has spoken with the Central Hudson forester in charge of the operation and made clear the importance of street trees to our Village. He understands and has agreed to keep pruning to a minimum. However, hazardous trees may require more drastic pruning or complete removal.
Members of the Tree Commission will be checking on the progress of the trimming program and will contact the Central Hudson’s forester, if and when necessary.
Central Hudson’s tree work is conducted on a 4 year cycle and the utility follows statewide rules for trimming. Please see the diagram below for a simple explanation. For more information please visit https://www.cenhud.com/outages/prevention–repair-strategies/trees-and-your-service/how-we-trim/
