A change in Kindergarten age requirements – rhinebeck Central School District
A Change in K age Requirements
In an effort to help ensure that our incoming Kindergarten students are developmentally prepared for school-age curriculum and social experiences, the Rhinebeck Central School District will be phasing in a three-year plan that will be moving the age requirement necessary for entering Kindergarten along the following schedule:
Fall 2019: students must be 5 years old by November 1st 2019
Fall 2020: students must be 5 years old by October 1st 2020
Fall 2021: students must be 5 years old by September 1st 2021
Please note: With this coming September being the first year we are implementing the movement of the age requirement for entering Kindergarten to November 1st, we will be able to offer some flexibility for students born in November. If your child has a November birthday, and you are still interested in them being able to transition to Kindergarten this Fall, please reach out to Mr. Brett King (CLS Principal) at (845) 871-5570 (ext. 6572) or email@example.com
