A Change in K age Requirements
In an effort to help ensure that our incoming Kindergarten students are developmentally prepared for school-age curriculum and social experiences, the Rhinebeck Central School District Board of Education, at their Jan 22, 2019 meeting, approved a three-year plan that will shift the age requirement necessary for entering Kindergarten, according to the following schedule:
Fall 2019: Students must be 5 years old by November 1, 2019
Fall 2020: Students must be 5 years old by October 1, 2020
Fall 2021: Students must be 5 years old by September 1, 2021
Please note: With this coming September being the first year implementing the movement of the age requirement for entering Kindergarten to November 1st, the District will be able to offer some flexibility for students born in November. A parent/guardian of a child with a November birthday who may be interested in their being able to transition to Kindergarten this Fall should reach out to Mr. Brett King (CLS Principal) at (845) 871-5570 (ext. 6572) or email@example.com
2019-20 Kindergarten Registration (Feb 4 – March 18, 2019)
Plans are already underway for the group of children who will enter Kindergarten in the Fall of 2019. A parent/guardian who has a child who will be five years old by November 1st, 2019 and resides in the Rhinebeck Central School District should call Mary Ann Torres @ (845) 871-5500 ext. 6560.
