Memoir writing for cancer patients, survivors offered at Rhinebeck hospital

Rhinebeck — A writing workshop for cancer patients and survivors will be held on the last Thursday of the month starting in January at Northern Dutchess Hospital.

 

The workshop is titled “Write Your Story.” The classes will meet from 2 to 4 p.m. on Jan. 31, Feb. 28, March 28, April 25, May 30 and June 27in the hospital’s cafeteria conference room, 6511 Springbrook Ave. Attendance at all sessions is ideal but not mandatory. Participants can start at any time.

 

Instructor Roselee Blooston is a published author and memoir writer, as well as speaker on the subject of loss and renewal.

 

There is no cost to attend. However, seating is limited to 15 and reservations are requested.  To sign up, call 845-871-1720 ext. 1. Participants should bring writing materials or a laptop.

 

This community benefit supports Northern Dutchess Hospital’s cancer services. In May, the hospital opened a $425,000 chemotherapy infusion center and oncologist Dr. Alfonso Cutugno joined Health Quest Medical Practice with an office on the hospital campus.
