Rhinebeck Interact Club is proud to be this year’s sponsor of the Mad Dash on Labor Day and to continue the over 30 year tradition of this race. We thank the Church of the Messiah for letting us run the event this year. Rhinebeck Interact Club is sponsored by Rhinebeck Rotary and is a service organization for Rhinebeck High School students. The club raises money for local and international projects and does service work in Rhinebeck and in Nicaragua. Our local work has included purchasing and planting trees at the Mazzarella/Thompson Park, tree plantings and clean-ups at the Rhinebeck Cemetery, painting the historic barn at the Montgomery House in Rhinebeck, helping with SinterKlass, PorchFest and the Rhinebeck Christmas Tree Lighting and working in food pantries and soup kitchens in the area. In addition, the club organizes and staffs several play days each year for the Children living at Astor Services for Children and Families in Rhinebeck. Internationally, a delegation of Rhinebeck INteract students go on an annual service mission to Nicaragua, where they have raised money and helped to build 8 classrooms, a library, a cafeteria and a chemistry classroom.
The money raised through Mad Dash will go to support our local programs which include the Jayne Brooks Food Pantry at the Church of the Messiah, local parks beautification projects, and our work at Astor Services. We look forward to seeing you at Mad Dash this year!
