Rhinebeck, New York…..Winnakee Land Trust has announced an upcoming public event, as well as the launch of its new logo and brand. “Music Under the Full Sturgeon Moon” is scheduled for Sunday, August 26 at 7pm. The event will feature live music by Austin Bonk atop Drayton Grant Park at Burger Hill; it is designed to be a celebration of Winnakee’s work to conserve land and connect communities, captured in its new logo and brand.

“If you’ve never experienced live music and a sunset on top of Drayton Park at Burger Hill, it’s a real treat,” said Carl Meyer, president, Winnakee Land Trust Board of Trustees. “Winnakee’s full moon hikes are always a reminder of how fortunate we are to live in the scenic Hudson River Valley, and how important it is to do our part to protect the area’s natural beauty. Walking up there at dusk to enjoy wonderful people, live music, and the stunning views is quite an experience.”

“This occasion also marks a public celebration of our new logo, a brightly-colored brand developed with Drake Creative which captures the essence of our vision: conserving land and connecting communities,” said Gregg Swanzey, Executive Director of Winnakee Land Trust.

Winnakee is a 501(c)3 organization located in Rhinebeck, NY which protects and preserves the natural and agricultural resources of Dutchess County providing a lasting legacy. Through the preservation of land and development of trails, Winnakee promotes more resilient communities while engaging and connecting people to the cultural and scenic resources of the Hudson Valley. As an accredited land trust, Winnakee not only protects farmland and natural habitats from development, but provides public recreational opportunities through its two parks—Drayton Grant Park at Burger Hill in Rhinebeck and Winnakee Nature Preserve in Hyde Park. Winnakee has established miles of public access trails and is continually working to add more.

“Our board and staff engaged in a process, facilitated by IBM, to develop a strategic plan, which included a new mission and vision, plans to create a new logo, and a plan to expand public events like our Sturgeon Moon Hike. We’re excited about what lies ahead as we build momentum around our mission and vision; our new logo really symbolizes the spirit of our work and the incredible energy of our supporters,” added Sally Mazzarella,  President Emeritus of Winnakee Land Trust.
