In the spirit of Independence Day, Emmy winner and three-time Tony nomineeMartha Plimpton kicks off the Cabaret series with an exploration of “the ways people fool themselves, fall in love, [and] get carried away” as she dedicates Aimee Mann songs to her most (and least) favorite Presidents in celebration of our nation’s birthday. Featuring special guests Julian Fleisher and Lucy Wainwright Roche.

An incomparable Broadway icon and Tony-award winner, Chita Rivera graces the Spiegeltent with two very special, intimate performances. Accompanied by her long-time trio, Chita will recreate moments from her legendary career including numbers from West Side StorySweet CharityChicagoKiss of the Spider Woman;  Bye, Bye, Birdie, and more.

Since 2007, the six-piece The Big Takeover has been packing clubs in the city, upstate, and around the globe. Now, this fantastic Hudson Valley band makes their Spiegeltent debut! The Big Takeover’s global blend unleashes “creativity with a celebratory grandeur” (The Poughkeepsie Journal).

The Porch brings Hudson Valley storytellers together for an intimate evening of stories (no notes allowed!). All true tales, each under 10 minutes, including the best yarns of past years and new voices and stories for 2018.

The Hot Jazz Age

Presented with the Catskill Jazz Factory
and the New York Hot Jazz Festival
Thursdays, July 5 – August 2

A five-concert journey through the Hot Jazz age, from its beginnings in New Orleans through its migration to Chicago, Harlem and beyond. Top artists of the genre’s current revival explore the music that served as the backdrop to the grit and glamour of the prohibition age.
