Rhinebeck, New York (Hudson Valley)….The Gallery@Rhinebeck, a commission-free venue which houses the work of over 70 local artists, announced today that it will be hosting its 2nd annual Autism Awareness Art Show. The event will once again include work by Anderson Center for Autism artists who participate in a weekly, year-round art program run by Gallery@Rhinebeck volunteers. Also on exhibit will be artwork by students/residents in the children’s program at Anderson Center for Autism.

An opening reception will be held on Wed., April 11th from 6-8pm at the Gallery@Rhinebeck, 47 East Market Street in the village of Rhinebeck.

“These types of events go a long way in helping us raise awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder, which now impacts 1 in 68 people. We are also thrilled to return to the Gallery@Rhinebeck to see our students and residents experience the satisfaction of sharing their artwork with the broader community; it’s really a special opportunity,” said Eliza Bozenski, Chief Development Officer, Anderson Foundation for Autism.

Pat D’Antonio, executive director of the Gallery@Rhinebeck, added, “The group of our gallery’s member artists who volunteer at Anderson Center for Autism every week absolutely love the experience. This art show is a celebration of the wonderful collaboration that the Gallery@Rhinebeck and Anderson have developed over the past year, but most importantly, of how art can help all of us express ourselves.”

The mission of Anderson Center for Autism is to optimize quality of life for individuals with autism.
