RHINEBECK COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP FUND APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE
The Board of Trustees of Rhinebeck Community Scholarship Fund (formerly Dollars for Scholars) has announced that the 2018 scholarship applications are now available in the Rhinebeck High School Guidance Office. Candidates wishing to submit applications for the scholarships must do so prior to the deadline of April 19th (to the Guidance Office).
Marybeth Cale, trustee and alumna of Rhinebeck High School (class of ‘92), said, “These scholarships not only help give students financial support as they pursue their dreams, but the awards send a message to local kids that their entire community is, collectively, very proud of their accomplishments.”
“Our past recipients have, time and again, communicated how grateful they feel for these awards. Students have gone on to build careers in computer science, trades, medicine, the arts, and a wide range of other fields; the scholarships certainly help pay for college, but they also give students the self-confidence boost that comes from being recognized for hard work, leadership, and community service,” stated Julie Turpin, president, Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees of the Rhinebeck Community Scholarship Fund will review applications and make decisions on awards later this spring. Any student who lives in the Rhinebeck school district is encouraged to apply.
Says Robert Heywood, Guidance Counselor at Rhinebeck High School, “We look for students who plan to pursue higher education in a two- or four-year setting, who have displayed commitment to their academics, their extracurricular activities, their work, and their community. These scholarship awards give us a chance to recognize the students who have been tirelessly dedicated to learning and growing, in all components of their lives.”
