Rhinebeck’s “Movies Under the Starrs,” a joint presentation of the Rhinebeck Recreation Department and the Starr Library is growing in popularity and enthusiasm. From an opening night (7/19) crowd of 20-25 people, we have grown to about 50 viewers this past Tuesday. We did a quick poll on Facebook last week, and the overwhelming majority of respondents indicated a preference for Friday nights, so we anticipate sticking with that from here on out unless something changes. We encourage everyone to come out next Friday, August 11th, for a fun-filled evening at the Thompson-Mazzarella Town Park on West Market Street in Rhinebeck to see the movie:
GIFTED, the story of Frank Adler, a single man raising a child prodigy – his spirited young niece Mary – in a coastal town in Florida. Frank’s plans for a normal school life for Mary are foiled when the 7-year-old’s mathematical abilities come to the attention of Frank’s formidable mother, Evelyn, whose plans for her granddaughter threaten to separate Frank and Mary.
Everyone is welcome and participants are encouraged to bring a chair, pad, or blanket as well as a friend or two. The movie will begin at 7:30 and runs for approximately 1 hour and 41 minutes. Background music will be playing prior to the beginning of the movie, so come out early and enjoy the fresh air.
