RHINEBECK, NY – A Rhinebeck high school student was the recipient of the Rhinebeck Area Chamber of Commerce scholarship for the 2016-2017 school year. The scholarship will be used to further recipient’s education at a college, professional, technical, vocational or business school.
Clinton Corners resident Elizabeth Goldstone has been awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship. Goldstone will be attending John Hopkins University, majoring in International Studies and minoring in Entrepreneurship & Management.
In addition to the scholarship amount, all Chamber Scholarship applicants will receive a one year free membership in the Chamber when the applicant opens a business in the Rhinebeck area. Claudia Cooley, executive director of the Rhinebeck Chamber says “The Board recognizes the importance of embracing and supporting our former students who’ve ‘gone out into the world’ and return to start a business. A move back home means our Rhinebeck business community will keep moving forward.”
Funds for the scholarships are raised through various Rhinebeck Chamber events including Business Breakfasts and 50/50’s held throughout the year.
The Rhinebeck Area Chamber of Commerce was founded as the Rhinebeck Chamber of Commerce in 1957 by a group of energetic and motivated business leaders in Rhinebeck. Throughout the years, the Chamber has grown from a small group of local businesses to more than 450 diversified businesses of all sizes throughout the Rhinebeck area.
