Rhinebeck, New York….The Board of Trustees of Rhinebeck Community Scholarship Fund (formerly Dollars for Scholars) has announced that the 2017 scholarship applications are now available in the Rhinebeck High School Guidance Office. Candidates wishing to submit applications for the scholarships must do so prior to the deadline of Thursday, April 20th (to the Guidance Office).

“Since our days as Dollars for Scholars, we have awarded over $400,000 in merit-based scholarships to Rhinebeck students, sending a collective message from the community to our youth that we are very much invested in helping them achieve their potential,” stated Ally Traver, trustee and alumna of Rhinebeck High School.

“These students demonstrate the characteristics and dedication to academics that are worthy of recognition,” stated Julie Turpin, trustee. “We are always excited to see what each year’s pool of candidates has accomplished, and to reward them accordingly.”

The Board of Trustees of the Rhinebeck Community Scholarship Fund will review applications and make decisions on awards later this spring. Any student who lives in the Rhinebeck school district is encouraged to apply.

Says Robert Heywood, Guidance Counselor at Rhinebeck High School, “we look for students who plan to pursue higher education in a two- or four-year setting, who have displayed commitment to their academics, their extracurricular activities, their work, and their community. These scholarship awards give us a chance to recognize the students who have been tirelessly dedicated to learning and growing, in all components of their lives.”
