AMENIA, New York, March 2017 — SUMMERTIDE 2017, is a new and highly anticipated summer food and wine event in the Hudson and Harlem Valley region, that will take place on the weekend of July 7- 9 atCascade Mountain Winery & Restaurant, located at 835 Cascade Mountain Road, in Amenia, New York. SUMMERTIDE 2017 headliners include the legendary American singer-songwriter Jonathan Edwards,author of the classic “Sunshine” and Jesse Colin Young, “the voice of a generation” and founder of the Youngbloods. Local legends include Kerri Powers, Cole Quest and the City Pickers, Elissa Jones, Advanced Phunk, Peter Muller Band, and the Ram Miles Trio.
The festivities will take place on twenty acres of sun-soaked pasture that boasts a spectacular view of the Litchfield Hills. A portion of the ticket proceeds will be going to The North East Community Center and High Watch Farm. Only 100 early bird tickets are available for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. For the last four decades, Cascade Mountain Winery & Restaurant has served their hand-crafted wines with delicious food, made with simple, natural, local ingredients and it continues to deliver a unique ridge top dining experience. “We’ve proudly featured the foods and wines of the Hudson Valley for over 40 years” agreed Charlie Wetmore and Joanie Wetmore Yahn, co-owners of Cascade Mountain Winery & Restaurant. “We are very grateful for the opportunity to shine a spotlight on local farmers, vintners, distillers, brewers, and cheese makers, and we are very excited about the wonderful singer-songwriters and musicians who will be on stage all weekend.
SUMMERTIDE 2017 will feature the best of the best from the Hudson Valley to the Berkshires and beyond. Event attendees can choose from three different ticketed events over the course of the weekend, or buy a weekend pass. All tickets are for entry and entertainment only. Delicious, modestly priced food, and beverages are additional.
The big tent will feature Cascade Mountain Winery, Chatham Brewing, Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery, Millbrook Winery, Hillrock Distillery, Hudson-Chatham Winery, Chaseholm Creamery, JACüTERIE, to name a few. Tastings and sales will be happening all weekend long – Friday night 6-9, and from 12-5 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Friday, July 7, at 6 pm the weekend of delicious food kicks off with a grand farm-to-table BBQ from Smithfield’s Full Circle Farm, and wood-fired pizza from Cascade’s Executive Chef Maria Laura Quintero owner ofMuchaChula Catering, Amenia’s outstanding boutique catering company, and Cascade’s Chef Donna Hanusik. Lobster Craft will be serving lobsters. A limited number of Lobster tickets are available and must be purchased in advance for $30. A dessert station will feature Cascade Mountain’s Hudson Valley Apple crisp topped with Heavenly Daze Syrup, as well as strawberry shortcake, and other sweet treats.
Widely acclaimed singer, songwriter, and violinist, E’lissa Jones, and her band will kick off Friday night’s entertainment followed by the local legends Advanced Phunk featuring Steve Ide, Bobby Mcveety, Ram Miles, and the Berkshires’ favorite horn section. Fireworks, in celebration of Cascade Mountain’s 40th anniversary, by Legion Fireworks will begin at 9:30 pm. One hundred early bird tickets are available here and cost $75. Saturday, July 8, from 12 pm – 10 pm will offer a star-studded bill of artists featuring: Jonathan Edwards, whose wonderful songs Sunshine and Shanty continue to delight, Kerri Powers, Cole Quest and The City Pickers, and The Peter Muller Band. Cole Quest, Woody Guthrie’s grandson, will lead everyone in a tribute during the show, and there will be a Woody Guthrie exhibit in the winery for the entire month of July. The music will start at 3:00. BBQ, lobsters, wood-fired pizzas and tasty desserts will again be available, as well as lots of delicious wine & Beer. On Sunday, July 9, 12:00 – 5:00 pm We’ll continue to enjoy some of the Hudson Valley’s Favorite Wineries, distilleries, breweries, and creameries, while listening to afternoon Jazz from The Ram Miles Trio who will take the stage from 12:30 to 2:00. At 2:30, we are thrilled to announce, Jesse Colin Young “The Voice of a Generation” who recorded the ultimate rendition of “Get Together“, and his band, will take the festival home. From the Summer of Love in San Francisco 1967 to SUMMERTIDE on a Ridgetop in Amenia NY 2017, Jesse rolls on! BBQ, lobsters, wood-fired pizzas and tasty desserts will again be available, as well as lots of delicious wine & Beer. One hundred Sunday early bird tickets are available and cost $75. Tickets will cost $90 after the one hundred early bird tickets are sold out.
Children are welcome. There is free admission for children under 12 years old.
