Career Day at Northern Dutchess Hospital to explore rewarding occupations



Rhinebeck, N.Y. – Students in grades 9 through 12 are invited to take part in a Healthcare Career Exploration Day from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at Northern Dutchess Hospital, 6511 Springbrook Ave.


The day will offer valuable information about the many healthcare career opportunities available. Students will explore careers in: nursing, obstetrics, laboratory, pharmacy, emergency medicine, physical and occupational therapy, diagnostic imaging and more.


“We will authentically engage local high school students in real working environments so they can better understand the many rewarding healthcare opportunities out there,” said Pamela Rhodes, hospital vice president of patient services.


The schedule includes:


–           A welcome reception and video presentation.

–          Tours and shadowing within specific departments.

–          Lunch with a mentor.

–          A closing reception with Q&A period.

The event is limited to 30 students, on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration fee is $10, which includes lunch. A snow date has been scheduled for Jan. 26.
