WHO: LongReach Arts is a cooperative of eighteen professional visual artists living in the Hudson River Valley who have exhibited extensively throughout the area as well as nationally and internationally. Originating as Summergroup it has been in existence for over thirty years. Artists exhibit their work in both solo and group exhibits. Their work has been reviewed in Art Times, American Artist, Fine Art Connoisseur’s online newsletter Fine Art Today, The New York Times, Hudson Valley Magazine.
WHAT: Member Nancy Scott says: “The dialogue of color, form and space rides the edge of what is sculpture and what is painting.” The disparate complementary works in this exhibit exemplify how each member “rides the edge” of his or her media be it painting, prints, mixed media, fiber art, pastel, oils, landscapes, or photographs. Individual themes incorporate animated energy, imaginative representational forms, or loose, abstract painterly canvases, with color playing a unifying role to draw the viewer into the mystery of the artist’s intent.
WHERE: Montgomery Row Second Level is located at Montgomery Row, 6423 Montgomery Street (Route 9), Rhinebeck, www.montgomeryrow.com.
