PORCHFEST EVENT TO BRING OVER 40 BANDS TO RHINEBECK VILLAGE STREETS ON SEPTEMBER 17
Rhinebeck, New York……On September 17, Rhinebeck villagers will enjoy the sounds and energy of over 40 bands as Porchfest makes its way to the historic community.
Porchfest, a national not-for-profit organization, promotes events designed to build community spirit through music. Rhinebeck resident Liz Mazzarella had attended one of the nationwide events in Ithaca, and quickly launched an effort to bring it to Rhinebeck. Area businesses and community leaders embraced the concept, and Mazzarella’s event vision will come to life next weekend, with big crowds anticipated for the one-day event.
The wide range of musical groups, set to play on the porches of historic homes on Chestnut, Platt, and Livingston Streets between the hours of 11am-6pm next Saturday, include everything from rock, acoustic, and reggae to cabaret, jazz, and opera. Musical performances from UGuys, Megan Barbera, John Platania, and T. McCann Band are on the roster, among many others. Streets will be closed to traffic, and food trucks will be out as well. It is a family-friendly event.
The event is sponsored by Shop Local JK Curthoys, Associates Golf Car Services, Izlind Wellness Center, Jade Platania, Esq., Jeffrey Martin Law Office, Phoenix Marketing International, Rhinebeck Bank, Rhinebeck Rotary, and Winter Sun and Summer Moon.
Parking is free; Porchfest will be held rain or shine. For more information, visit www.rbkporchfest.com.
