Tuesday, July 5th

2:00pm-3:00pm – Sneaky Art – Kids! Join us every Tuesday this summer and make some SNEAKY ART with us! What is sneaky art? Sneaky art is when you make TERRIFIC decorations and HIDE them for people to find! We’ll be making a different project each week and hiding it in a new place!
This program is for kids ages 5-10. No registration necessary – Just stop in!

6:00pm-7:00pm – ‘Zines! – What are ‘Zines? Zines are homemade magazines about any topic that interests you! This summer, we’ll be getting together and making some ‘zines of our own. We’ll provide the materials – You bring your ideas!
For ages 12-18.

Wednesday, July 6th

4:00pm-6:00pm – Canoe Paddle w/ the DEC – Join us for an educational canoe paddle through Tivoli Bays with the New York State DEC. For people ages 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
This event is free, but space is limited and PRE-REGISTRATION is required! For directions and more detailed information, please call or e-mail the library.

4:00pm-5:00pm – LEGO Club – Come in out of the heat and play with our HUGE collection of LEGOs in the air conditioned library!
For all ages!

5:30pm-6:30pm – Battle of the Books Meeting – Regular meeting of our Battle of the Books team. All members are asked to please attend.
There will be snacks!

Thursday, July 7th

10:00am-2:00pm – Hooks & Needles, Yarns & Threads – Informal weekly social gathering for rug hookers, knitters, crocheters, and all other yarn crafters. Drop in any time between 10am & 2pm!
$1 suggested donation, to go toward the purchase of resource materials for the library collection.

2:00pm-3:00pm – Wild About Birds Club – Fun club for young bird lovers. We’ll be learning how to identify local birds by sound and sight, learning about their ways and habits, and finding out how we can help them.
Free. For ages 5-10.

6:00pm-7:00pm – Chair Yoga – Anyone, yes anyone can practice yoga.
Chair yoga is an introductory level class. As the name implies, students practice primarily while sitting on chairs or standing with the support of a chair. The simplest postures can free tight joints and calm tense muscles. Chair yoga is helpful for those who work all day at a desk as well as those with health problems that make traditional yoga difficult or uncomfortable.
Emphasis on breathing techniques, relaxation, stretching and strengthening. Taught by certified yoga instructor, Marianne Neifeld.
Drop ins welcome. $7/class drop-in.

Friday, July 8th

10:30am-11:00am – Yoga for Kids! – Free yoga class for kids ages 5-8 led by Cleo from Rainbow Body Yoga.
Children will learn how to focus and center themselves with various breathing and visualization techniques. They will also learn self-respect and respect for others with the practice of fun and challenging poses, partner and group poses, yoga games, breathing and basic anatomy.

6:00pm-7:30pmMidnight Society: Teen Horror Club – Regular meeting of our Teen Horror Club. Please note that registration is closed for this series.

Monday, July 11th

6:00pm-7:00pm – Story Garden – Join us for stories & crafts in the Tivoli Free Library community garden plot. Meet at the library and walk over together at 6pm.
For kids entering kindergarten through third grade.

Saturday, July 16th

2:00pm-3:00pm – “Drum to the Beat” Family Drum Circle with Otha Day – Join educator and musician Otha Day for a fun and lively family drum circle workshop! Otha creates a joy-filled environment of learning and playing the rhythms, songs, and chants from a diverse range of cultures, including West African, Native American, South American and Asian.
You’re sure to leave his drum circle feeling inspired, uplifted and wonderfully healed by the experience. Free and open to all!
