Red Hook Public Library highlights experiential learning at Maker Camp
(RED HOOK, NY) — Kids interested in hands-on learning and making should sign up for Red Hook Public Library’s Maker Camps, led by interns for Bard College’s Center for Civic Engagement. Camp for makers entering grades 5 & 6 begins at 10 a.m. Monday, July 18 and continues until Friday, July 22. Grades 7-9 will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, and continue untilFriday, July 22.
Maker Camp is an interactive summer program focused on the art of tinkering. Campers will learn in a hands-on style, with both practical and theoretical instruction in basic design, mechanics and physics. The library’s expert tinkerers will introduce their students to basic STEM concepts while showing them how to make bridges, rockets, and robots.
