In John Heginbotham and Amy Trompetter’s Fantasque, dancers and puppets combine to create a whimsical environment in which Mother Goose and a mischievous devil appear on stage and star-crossed lovers rendezvous.

In her Hudson Valley studio, Trompetter creates the puppets who co-star in Fantasque using “a system that is as old as can be: digging clay out of the earth, mixing it in a big tub with straw, hay, and corn starch.”

In this new video, follow Trompetter and Heginbotham’s path from puppet studio to the New 42nd Street Studios where dancers and puppets meet for rehearsal.

Suitable for the entire family.
