Rhinebeck – A geriatrician who specializes in balance disorders, a pharmacist trained to prevent medication reactions and a physical therapist with many assessment tools will offer Body in Harmony, a balance and mobility clinic, from 10 am. to noon Thursday, June 2 at Northern Dutchess Hospital.
The clinic offers patients 65 or older a thorough balance and equilibrium disorder evaluation and medication assessment at the hospital’s Center for Healthy Aging, 6529 Springbrook Ave.
Balance problems should not be ignored, according to Health Quest Medical Practice geriatrician Jodi Friedman, who is also the center’s medical director.
“Too many of our seniors suffer from falls each year,” Friedman said. “By recognizing the warning signs of a problem early on, we hope to prevent falls and injuries and keep attendees living active lifestyles.”
The clinic will also include an assessment by a social worker of psychological stress that may impact balance and mobility.
The session is billed as a regular doctor’s appointment and is covered by most insurance carriers, including Medicare. Prior registration is required. To reserve a spot, please call 845-876-4745.
