Rhinebeck ROTARY HONORS OUTSTANDING MEMBERS AND INSTALLS NEW OFFICERS

On Monday, May 9th, at its annual Service Above Self Awards Dinner and Recognition Ceremony at The Rhinecliff in Rhinecliff, the
Rhinebeck Rotary honored five of its long-time members and installed a slate of officers and directors for the upcoming year.
Honored with the “Citizen of the Year” award were Michael Frazier, David Ives, and Greg Rakow. Mr. Frazier is a retired educator and school superintendent; Mr. Ives is the head of the Albert Schweitzer Institute at Quinnipiac College and is a current Nobel Peace Prizenominee; and Mr. Rakow leads the insurance firm, Fraleigh and Rakow, in Rhinebeck.
Honored with the “Paul Harris Fellowship Award” were David Albahary and David Ping. Mr. Albahary is Founder and Managing Principal of Ivy Ridge Asset Management and Mr. Ping is Senior Vice-President of Strategic Planning and Business Development at Health Quest.
Installed as incoming officers were Maureen Gates as President, Kiki Steele as President-Elect, Roselee Blooston as Vice-President, William Schaefer as Secretary, Barbara Markell as Treasurer, and Gary McDonald as Sergeant-at-Arms. New directors-at-large are James Chapman and Lou Trapani.
The Rhinebeck Rotary Club meets on Mondays at 12:15 pm at the Beekman Arms throughout the year and is a humanitarian organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of others through local, national, and international service projects. Weekly meetings typically feature speakers covering a variety of human-interest topics and guests are welcome to attend.
