The Post Office will be conducting its annual food drive on Saturday, May 14. Contributions of food may be left next to your mailbox before your letter carrier makes his or her rounds on May 14.  They will do the rest!

The Pantry is always in need of non-perishable food like, canned fruit and hearty soups, as well as pasta, brown rice, coffee, dried kidney beans and pudding mix.

Your kind donations will help us provide nearly 40,000 meals this year.

It was a busy first quarter 2016 at the Jayne Brooks Food Pantry.

Thanks to the help of our many cheerful volunteers and donors

  • we responded to 460 household visits in the first 3 months of the year.

  • We provided supplementary food to 177 different households.  About one-third of the clients we served were children or the elderly, our most vulnerable neighbors, living in Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Staatsburg, and Hyde Park.

We would not be able to meet the ongoing needs of our neighbors without the dedication of nearly 40 volunteers, and the many contributions we receive from our community.

Our special thanks go to the local Boy Scout troops who conducted their annual food drive in April (another successful year!) and to the real estate’s community’s St. Patrick’s Day Fundraising Party.
