Hospitals offer Living with Lymphedema Support Groups
Lymphedema therapists from Northern Dutchess Hospital and Vassar Brothers Medical Center will hold a series of Living with Lymphedema Support Group sessions over the next few months to help those who may be at risk of developing the disease, as well as those who are already living with it. Sessions are held at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays:
– The support group meets on May 10, Sept. 13 and Nov. 15 in the cafeteria conference room at Northern Dutchess, 6511 Springbrook Ave., Rhinebeck.
– The support group meets on June 14 and Oct. 11 in conference room A at Vassar Brothers, 45 Reade Place, City of Poughkeepsie.
Lymphedema is an incurable medical condition that causes severe swelling, usually in the arms and legs. Group facilitators will present on different aspect of the disease and leave time for questions.
