Mr. Rakow, a long-time Rotarian and chair of the HealthQuest board of directors, and Mr. Ping, also a long-time Rotarian and Vice-President of Strategic Planning for HealthQuest, took turns pointing out that HealthQuest is one of the “healthiest” medical practice organizations in the region and consistently places in the top 10% of such organizations.

At Northern Dutchess Hospital, Mr. Ping described, new patient rooms will open in the fall and each room is dedicated to the health and care of but one patient. This new strategy – one patient, one room – ensures not only quality individual care but also eliminates the possibility of contagion. Mr. Ping went on to detail the new robotic surgery and orthopedic units, also scheduled to open in the fall, which units will firmly place Northern Dutchess Hospital as a leader in open heart and orthopedic procedures.

At Vassar Brothers Hospital, Mr. Rakow explained, a major “face lift” will commence in the fall and the completed structure promises to make a quantum leap into the future of surgical techniques possible, including new heart surgery techniques, brain surgery techniques to remove blood clots resultant from strokes before they can cause long-term damage, and thoracic and liver surgery techniques.
