Red Hook Public Library and Taste Budd’s Café Present Women’s History Story Slam

 

(RED HOOK, NY) – Revel in the words of amazing women when Red Hook Public Library hosts a Women’s History Story Slam at 7 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Taste Budd’s Café in the Village of Red Hook.

 

The Story Slam at Taste Budd’s is an established montly event where authors and poets read selections of their work. For this Story Slam however, all work presented will be by and about women, their passions, life works, and issues important to them.  Several local published authors will read from their books.  In addition there will be readings from important women of history.

 

All are welcome at this free event.

Red Hook Public Library has been serving the community of Red Hook and its need for lifelong learning since 1898. In 2013 and 2014, it was designated a five-star library by Library Journal. The library was chosen as a finalist for the Best Small Library in America award, given by Library Journal and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, in 2015.
