Creative Crossroads Presents Paintings by Karen Mars Sergio

Stanfordville, NY, March 10, 2016 – Creative Crossroads will present “Paintings by Karen Mars Sergio”, a collection of paintings by Stanfordville artist Karen Mars Sergio at The Stanford Grange, 6043 Route 82, Stanfordville on Friday, April 15th through Sunday, April 17th from 12 – 5 pm.

Sergio will exhibit approximately 40 paintings featuring seasonal plein air landscapes. Her preferred medium is oil using palette knives, though she has experimented with acrylic and watercolor too. Many of her bold sceneries capture the northern Hudson Valley, specifically the rolling hills, picturesque barns and serpentine streams found throughout the Dutchess County countryside.

The artist has been painting for almost a decade and is a member of two chapters of the Society of Decorative Painters – a worldwide family of painters who work to stimulate interest in and serve as a resource center for all aspects of decorative painting.

Sergio has exhibited her work at many juried and non-juried shows at the Red Hook Community Arts Network gallery in Red Hook, NY and at The Barrett House in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Creative Crossroads’ mission is to give artists of all disciplines space to reach a local audience.  By offering exposure to different types of art and artists, Creative Crossroads hopes to inspire art students and art lovers, young and old.  The interaction between practitioners of art and those who admire or simply enjoy it will enrich the lives of all. All events are free and open to the public. Email or call 845-868-7054 for more
