News from Dutchess Tourism – Free Entrance Days at the National Parks

The National Park Service turns 100 years old in 2016 and they want everyone to celebrate! On 16 days in ’16, all National Park Service sites normally charging an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone. In Dutchess, visit the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Vanderbilt Mansion, Eleanor Roosevelt’s Val-kill, and Top Cottage (Hyde Park). Mark your calendar for these entry fee–free dates in 2016:

  January 18: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
•  April 16 – 24: National Park Week
  August 25 – 28: National Park Service Birthday
  September 24: National Public Lands Day
  November 11Veterans DayEnjoy our country’s history and nature. Get a free annual pass for any 4th grade student at Every Kid in a Park. Active duty military and permanently disabled citizens can also get free passes.
