When: Saturday, December 12, 7 PM
Join National Geographic and Oceans 8 filmmaker Jon Bowermaster in a screening of three mini-documentaries, collectively called “The Hudson: A River at Risk.” The trio are powerful vignettes of the risks facing our beloved river.
Bowermaster chronicles three prominent threats to the Hudson and our public safety:
- The boom in crude oil transportation on the river and by rail
- The problematic Indian Point nuclear plant
- The impact of the Tappan Zee Bridge replacement
Following both screenings of the film, an expert panel will answer audience questions regarding these and other threats to our area’s water and our public safety.
Panel participants: Jon Bowermaster, Writer/Director and Moderator;
Kate Hudson, Riverkeeper Director of Cross-Watershed Initiatives;
Didi Barrett, State Assembly member, 106th District (parts of Dutchess and Columbia Counties)
