On Saturday, October 10, 2015, Winnakee Land Trust will host the second Dutchess County Regional Trails Conference at the historic Cornell Boathouse at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The conference will bring together all towns, villages and diverse trail groups from across the county and beyond to share information, resources and envision potential connections that will create a truly regional trails system. Go to www.facebook.com/winnakeeland ORhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/winnakee-land-trusts-2015-dutchess-county-trail-conference-at-the-marist-college-cornell-boathouse-tickets-18415651710 to register through Eventbrite, or call Winnakee at 845-876-4213 x2 and speak with Karissa Stokdal. The $10 registration fee may be waived on request.
We are very fortunate to again have keynote speaker Jeff Olson of Alta Planning, known internationally for trails development. A panel and attendees representing local projects will talk about both the practical steps for creating a trail system and broader subjects such as economic impacts and statewide resources. Poster sessions will provide opportunities to learn from each other, share strategies, and envision a connected regional trails system. We ask every municipality to please join us! Supervisors and mayors, trail committees, recreation directors, Conservation Advisory Council members, and municipal and independent trail project leaders are strongly encouraged to attend.
