Daily Freeman Reports: Bulkeley Middle School in Rhinebeck gets $80,000 donation to improve computer lab

RHINEBECK >> School district trustees have accepted an $80,918.34 donation from the Rhinebeck Science Foundation toward teacher training and accessories to the Bulkeley Middle School computer lab.

The funding was acknowledged during a Board of Education meeting last week.

Foundation President Jennifer Hammoud said the donations will help the district take advantage of technology improvements planned for the coming academic year. “There’s a computer lab in the middle school, and there will be a renovation of the room,” she said.

“This will be for a an entirely new curriculum for all sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students,” she added. “There will also be professional development to help transition teachers to not only be able to teach the new curriculum, but to be able to integrate curriculum throughout different disciplines throughout the middle school.”
