RHINEBECK ROTARY TREATED TO LATE SPRING CONCERT

The Rhinebeck Rotary, at a regular meeting at The Beekman Arms on Monday, June 1st, was treated to a special concert performed by the young students of the Chancellor Livingston School Show Choir.

Under the superb direction of Sandy Kane, the young performers sang a variety of selections, ending with a particularly memorable piece from the musical “Pippin,” “Corner of the Sky.”

The Chancellor Livingston School Show Choir performs twice annually for the Rotary and, according to Ms. Kane, the experience for her young performers is profound. Many of the choir members have never been to the Beekman Arms and the opportunity to share a meal with Rotarians at a fabled area restaurant is an exceptional one. Also, the chance to perform for a live audience, particularly for students who have had little musical experience outside of the classroom, is particularly rewarding.

The Rhinebeck Rotary Club meets on Mondays at 12:15 pm throughout the year and is a humanitarian organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of others through a variety of service projects locally, nationally, and internationally. Regular club meetings typically feature speakers who cover a variety of human interest topics.
