The Daily Freeman Reports : Rhinebeck board OKs spending more than $1 million for park improvements

RHINEBECK >> The Town Board has authorized spending up to $1.05 million on the first phase of planned improvements at Thompson-Mazzarella Park.

At a board meeting Monday, officials noted that a $250,000 bond authorization to help finance the project would be subject to a permissive referendum by town voters.

“We’re authorizing the issuance of $250,000 of serial bonds … and authorizing the expenditure of $802,860,” town Supervisor Elizabeth Spinzia said.

Officials said most of the expenditures will be covered by grants and reserve funds, but needed the Town Board’s agreement to make up a $392,610 gap in the park budget.
