Artwork by Rhinebeck Central School District Students
May 1 – May 29, 2015
Opening Reception Friday, May 1, 5pm-7pm
“REJUVENATION” is the ninth annual group exhibition of works by students attending Rhinebeck Central School District. Students from grades K through 12 will present a body of work containing a variety of media used in their academic classes. This show highlights works of art by students studying with Fawn Johnson (CLE), Jennifer Famiglietti (BMS), and Kathryn Giles and Cynthia Baer (RHS). These works show the expertise students gain as they study within Rhinebeck Central Schools’ arts curriculum as well as the faculty’s creativity in developing artistic talent.
The exhibit includes both traditional and contemporary styles of work. While the artwork reflects students’ proficiency in using mixed media, pencil, charcoal, pastel, mosaics, and acrylic painting, it also is representative of the themes and interests of the students. Some themes include local life, students’ self-awareness and inner feelings, while others substantiate students’ understanding of balancing the elements and principles of art. This exhibit provides a montage of creative experiences Rhinebeck Central School students in grades K through 12 are exposed to as they participate in Rhinebeck’s course offerings and learn about visual art with its multiple media. “REJUVENATION” is from May 1 – May 29, 2015.
The public is invited to join faculty and students at a reception on Friday, May 1 from 5-7 pm. Montgomery Row Second Level is located at Montgomery Row,
6423 Montgomery Street (Route 9) in Rhinebeck. It is open to the public Monday-Sunday 9am-6pm. For more information, contact Sue at 845.876.0543 or visit www.montgomeryrow.com.
