Coral & Tusk at Paper Trail
Coral & Tusk, the innovative collection of embroidered art and textiles, will debut it’s Spring 2015 collection at Paper Trail, Saturday, April 4
. Stephanie Housley, designer and owner of Coral & Tusk, will be on hand to present the collection from 3 to 5pm
Coral & Tusk’s creative process is a special alchemy of illustration, machine embroidery and hand-finishing. A RISD-trained textile designer, Stephanie first creates her eccentric dressed animal characters and patterns as original pencil drawings. Then she painstakingly redraws them stitch by stitch using specialized software. The designs are machine-embroidered on linen and finished by hand. Every Coral & Tusk product retains the hand-drawn allure of the original illustration, now with the satisfying tactile quality of stitches on cloth.
The Spring 2015 collection is a bold, colorful departure, some of it inspired by Stephanie Housley’s recent travels to Turkey. Rich ethnic pattern designs combine with luscious garden floral motifs on pillows, table linens and wall art pieces. Much of Stephanie’s work celebrates nature and embraces a story-telling narrative that both adults and children appreciate.
Paper Trail has proudly offered Coral & Tusk exclusively in Rhinebeck for the past three years with great success. “Coral & Tusk products bring smiles to the faces of our clients, with good reason. They exude charm, curiosity and handmade beauty — things we all love to live with,” says Paper Trail partner Maureen Missner.
