Public Input Sought for Rehabilitation of Bridge RH-25 in Tivoli
The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold a Public Information Meeting to discuss the rehabilitation of Bridge RH-25, located on Broadway over the White Clay Kill in the Village of Tivoli. The meeting will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Tivoli Village Hall, located at 86 Broadway, doors will be open at6:30 p.m.
Dutchess County DPW, in cooperation with New York State Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration, is developing design studies for the rehabilitation of Bridge RH-25, which will include the replacement and widening of the existing driving lanes and shoulders. Additionally, the project will repair the existing supporting foundation structure, replace the concrete deck and beams, install context appropriate stone-faced walls to maintain the character of the bridge, upgrade the guide rail and bridge rail systems and reinstall existing ornamental lighting fixtures. The proposed project is entirely within the Village of Tivoli, beginning 50 feet east of the bridge and ending 50 feet west of the bridge, stretching approximately 150 feet. The project will require public acquisition of some roadway frontage for select properties adjacent to portions of the reconstructed bridge. Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2017.
DPW is seeking comments on the proposed project from individuals, groups, officials and local agencies, in particular comments regarding the development of alternatives for the project as well as associated social, economic and environmental impacts. This public information meeting is part of the continuing efforts by Dutchess County DPW, the New York State Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration to encourage public input into the development of transportation projects.
