Notice of Public Hearing

A Local Law Authorizing the Enforcement of the Provisions of Dutchess County E911 Sign Laws

 

The Town Board of the Town of Rhinebeck shall conduct a Public Hearing on Monday, February 9, at 6:45 p.m., at the Rhinebeck Town Hall, 80 East Market Street, Rhinebeck, New York, on Proposed Local Law No. __ of 2015, A Local Law Authorizing the Enforcement of the Provisions of Dutchess County E911 Sign Laws.

 

Proposed Local Law No. __ of 2015 will authorize the Town of Rhinebeck to enforce the provisions of the Dutchess County E911 Sign Law, which established requirements for the numbering of houses and structures for E911 purposes; established road name sign standards for E911 purposes; established procedures to be followed upon non-compliance of said requirements; established penalties for offenses of said E911 Sign Law; established an appeal process and an appeals panel to hear and determine appeals from official determinations with regard to said Dutchess County E911Sign Law; and established provisions for enforcement of said law, including the exaction of fines for violations of said law and the levying of delinquencies for payment of said fines on property tax bills. Proposed Local Law No. __ of 2015 will authorize the Town of Rhinebeck to appoint an enforcement official for the service of notices, issuance of summonses, prosecution of violations and collection of fines therein, and also notify the Town Board of any delinquencies in the payment of the fines for purpose of levying the same with the next property tax bill.

The enactment of the above proposed local law has been classified as a Type II action under SEQRA and does not require environmental review.

 

Copies of the proposed local law are on file in the Office of the Town Clerk and may be examined during normal business hours.

 

Comments in writing are invited for receipt by the Town Clerk at any time prior to the close of the public hearing. Comments may also be personally made at the Public Hearing at which time all interested persons will be afforded the opportunity to be heard.
