1. We don’t get to go there as much as our 7 and 9 year old would like. But when we do go, the Eveready always delivers. It’s a genuine hometown diner. I drove past the dark building tonight and the one firetruck standing guard. I thought I might stop in to buy a cup of coffee of support; but not tonight. Maybe tomorrow?

It’s just a diner, for God’s sake. Why is it on my mind? Maybe cause it’s as reliable as a member of the family — the food is fine, and occasionally great, the refrigerator is always stocked with everything you want, and they’re always nice.

I wish them a speedy recovery.

  2. It is not just a diner. It is a community and family gathering place that many of us enjoyed over the years. I feel for the folks who worked and ran the place as well as those who worked there. Many of them became friends and we always had good words for each other. I hope that they are able to get back up and running very soon.
