ZENERGY PERSONAL TRAINING CENTER ANNOUNCES FRIENDSHIP TOURNAMENT, DESIGNED TO PROVIDE LOCAL YOUTH WITH CHANCE TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH MARTIAL ARTS COMPETITION
Red Hook, New York….Zenergy Personal Training Center has announced that it will host a Friendship Tournament on Sunday, April 27th at 9:00am (doors open at 8:30am) at its location in Red Hook, New York, in partnership with Fighting Spirit Dojo in New Paltz, New York. The event will provide local martial arts students with an opportunity to engage in forms (Kata) and sparring (Kumite) competition, with awards, prizes, and food, with an underlying theme of building healthy relationships through martial arts. Students will receive merit points for Dojo etiquette, spirit, sportsmanship, courtesy, and respect, as well as skill in both divisions. A charitable component of the tournament has also been announced, with a fundraiser being held simultaneously to support hospitalization costs for a family associated with the Fighting Spirit Dojo; the family experienced an automobile accident and the students have committed to helping raise funds for medical expenses as part of the April 27th event.
“As a personal training center with comprehensive fitness programs for people of all ages, we are very pleased to bring this event to the public, as it showcases our commitment to promoting wellness for mind, body, and spirit at every stage of life. Our primary focus with this initiative is, of course, our youth, who need to embrace our messages of healthy living and friendships early on in their lives in order to make the best choices when they are faced with challenges and tough decisions. The kids work hard to prepare for the event, and while most of them are trained in Tenshinkan karate at our studio, we work with Fighting Spirit Dojo in New Paltz as a way of introducing similar high standards taught through Kyokoshin-style martial arts, and giving our kids a chance to learn and grow through their friendships with other youth”, says Jonathan Winstral Shihan, the Country Chief of Tenshinkan USA and owner of Zenergy.
Tenshinkan karate is part of Zenergy’s family fitness center, which also features a youth fitness program for kids and teens, allowing youth an opportunity to engage in martial arts classes, boxing, and personal training with Winstral Shihan, a world champion athlete and motivational coach.
Entrance fee is $30. For more information on the Friendship Tournament or other fitness and membership classes and programs at Zenergy Personal Training Center, call845.399.8505.
