RHINEBECK COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP FUND APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE

The Board of Trustees of Rhinebeck Community Scholarship Fund (formerly Dollars for Scholars) has announced that the 2014 scholarship applications are now available in the Rhinebeck High School Guidance Office. Candidates wishing to submit applications for the scholarships must do so prior to the deadline of Wednesday, April 9th (to the Guidance Office).

“Each year, we see an increasing number of students who are qualified to receive a scholarship from our organization, a testament to the wonderful education students in our community receive, and to the model of community engagement that the parents and leaders of our area have provided to our youth”, stated Julie Turpin, President of Rhinebeck Community Scholarship Fund.

“Over the years, we have been thrilled to have offered scholarship awards exceeding over $375,000, and we look forward to seeing what kind of impact we can make this year; it is truly exciting to honor our local students with these merit-based awards”, Ann DiAngelo, longtime Trustee said.

The Board of Trustees of the Rhinebeck Community Scholarship Fund will review applications and make decisions on awards later this spring. Any students from the Rhinebeck area are encouraged to apply.

Says Robert Heywood, Guidance Counselor at Rhinebeck High School, “we look for students who plan to pursue higher education in a two- or four-year setting, who have displayed commitment to their academics, their extracurricular activities, their work, and their community – basically we want to reward really well-rounded, dedicated kids. This scholarship program is an investment into the future of our youth, wherever they land; we have actually been fortunate to have many recipients return right here to their hometown to share their skills and talents, which is wonderful too”.
