ADULT DAY PROGRAM COMES TO RHINEBECK
The Rhinebeck Rotary, at a regular meeting at The Beekman Arms on Monday, January 13, hosted Susan Koppenhaver, Chief Executive Officer of “Always There,” a two-county, not-for-profit agency which provides safe and nurturing care for mature adults.
In a compassionate speech accenting the many services offered by “Always There,” Ms. Koppenhaver announced the start later this month of an adult day program at the United Methodist Church on East Market Street in Rhinebeck. Featuring a professional and experienced staff, this program, presented on
Tuesday through Thursday of each week, will ensure that homecooked meals and a variety of recreational and therapeutic exercises are available for seniors. Accenting the economic benefits of at-home care for older citizens, which can be provided at a fraction of the cost of services typically offered at nursing homes or assisted living facilites, Ms. Koppenhaver invited Rotarians to consider at-home programs in their own futures.
