Red Hook Police Department – COMMERCIAL BURGLARY TOWN OF RED HOOK / ARREST

On December 26, 2013 the Red Hook Police Department responded to the Cornucopia Deli located at 8083 Rt. 9 in the Town of Red Hook for a burglary in progress. At approximately 10:15 pm one of the suspects damaged the outside power supply to the establishment by striking it with a sledge hammer. The subjects then entered the business leaving with an unknown amount of cash.
A few hours later the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded to an intrusion alarm at a business in the Town of Lagrange. After a chase of the suspects on the roadway and on foot the suspects were apprehended. After interviewing both suspects at the Sheriff’s Office in Poughkeepsie, the Red Hook Police were able to connect the two Long Island men to the burglary in the Town of Red Hook
Arrested were Jonathan Barham, 26,of Central Islip Long Island and Carsell Barham, 31, of Massapequa Long Island. Both suspects were charged with burglary, criminal possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools. They are currently being held at the Dutchess County Jail.
