Bus Strike – No Service Today April 25th
Starting this morning Thursday, April 25th, the employees of Durham School Services, the company with whom our school district contracts to provide bus transportation to our student, have decided to go on strike, effective immediately.
Durham School Services has indicated to the Rhinebeck Central School District that they will NOT be able to cover our bus runs for the start of school this morning as usual.
However, please be advised that the Rhinebeck Central School District is open and ready to educate your children. Parents should plan for children being driven to school in private vehicles to arrive as close to the normal drop off time as possible but the children will not be penalized if that is not possible. We will have additional personnel on hand at each of our school buildings to handle the extra traffic that is anticipated.
If you have any questions please contact your building principal at:
Chancellor Livingston Elementary School Brett King 871-5570 ext. 5572
Bulkeley Middle School John Kemnitzer 871-5500 ext. 5588
Rhinebeck High School Ed Davenport 871-5500 ext. 5503
Transportation Office Tom Burnell 871-5520 ext. 5528
In the event anything changes to the usual transportation arrangements, the District will communicate to parents through the District web site (www.rhinebeckcsd.org), through letters, and through the usual methods of emergency notifications, including SchoolMessenger and local radio stations.
