Village of Rhinebeck Informational Notice 10/26/2012

October 26, 2012
The Village of Rhinebeck is requesting everyone’s help and asking that no more leaves be placed on Village streets. Mayor Jim Reardon states, “With the projected high amounts of rainfall from Hurricane Sandy leaves on the streets will only lead to a blockage of the storm drains causing a back up of water. This timing of this storm is at one of the most difficult times of the year from a management perspective.  By not placing leaves on the streets it will help us keep the storm drains open. We are monitoring the weather very closely, will be taking steps to lower the water level at Crystal Lake and will have street department personnel working diligently to keep the drains open. We thank everyone in advance for their cooperation.”
