PTSO Finalizes 2011-12 Discount Cards

The Rhinebeck Central School District has finalized the 2011-12 PTSO Discount Card and residents and visitors will be able to purchase and use the cards starting September 1, 2011.  The PTSO Discount Card is a credit card sized item with discount offers from select Rhinebeck merchants.  Merchants pay nothing to participate on the card; they simply honor the listed discount one time per day, per customer.  Now in its third year, the card will feature a record 21 merchants including returning names such as Samuel’s, Bread Alone, Land of Oz Toys and Rhinebeck Department Store as well as newly added merchants Waddle n Swaddle, Rhinebeck Bagels and Oliver Kita Chocolatier and the brand new Rhinebeck branch of Nails Plus.  Melissa Bell-Dentico, who has worked on the card all three years, is thrilled with the number of participating merchants.  Dentico states:  “It’s very exciting for the merchants and residents.  The card not only supports our schools but it keeps people shopping in our town rather than going across the river to Kingston.  Every customer counts, especially in today’s economy.”  This year’s card will be $15 and will be effective from 9/1/2011 – 8/31/2012.  Cards can be purchased through the PTSO website and at school events.  Watch the RCF for future updates about card availability and ordering information.
