Central Hudson Notice About Loss/Theft of Equipment ~September 2, 2011

Central Hudson Notice  http://www.centralhudson.com/hurricaneirene.html#dryice

We continue to make progress in restoring electric service in the wake of Irene. Please be patient if we’ve not yet gotten to your neighborhood!

Meanwhile, we would like to ask for your assistance with a very serious matter: There have been several locations during the last few days when our crews have arrived on a scene to make a repair — only to find that existing transformers, wire and other parts of the electric system that had survived the storm have since been removed from the location!

This not only delays repairs, as new supplies must be brought in, but is also very dangerous! Please be reminded to stay away from downed facilities — and to assume that any piece of our electric system may still be energized!

If you see suspicious behavior near any type of Central Hudson equipment, please immediately notify your local police department or call our Theft Hotline at 1-877-728-3465.

We appreciate your attention to this serious matter.
