21st ANNUAL RHINEBECK ROTARY FALL CLASSIC
WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 28th AT RED HOOK GOLF CLUB
Since 1991, when Rhinebeck Rotary first set out to support the athletic programs of two local school districts, Red Hook and Hyde Park (after their budgets had been defeated), the service organization’s annual fall outing has become a tradition for area golfers. Over the past two decades, Rhinebeck Rotary has been able to raise over $185,000, which has been used to support charitable works locally, nationally and internationally, according to longtime Chairperson Greg Rakow.
This year, the event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 28th, with a shotgun start at 10:00am, at Red Hook Golf Club. The registration fee of $100/player or $400/foursome includes a round of golf with cart, morning coffee and Danish, post-play barbeque, prizes, awards and beverages.
“The tournament is critically important to Rotary’s mission of improving the lives of the people served by the programs we support. Locally, Rhinebeck Rotary provides funds to a number of groups, including Adopt-a-Family, Astor Home, Baptist Home, Burger Hill Committee, Rhinebeck Little League, Northern Dutchess Hospital, Starr Library, Wilderstein, Heart Safe, Ferncliff Forest and the list goes on. We would not be able to help these organizations remain vital without the funds raised through the golf classic”, shares Greg Rakow, who has been involved with the event since its inception, and for 19 of the 20 years has served as Chair.
Registrations are available, as are sponsorships. For more information, please contact Greg Rakow at Fraleigh and Rakow Insurance by calling 845-876-7035.
