Fire department to hold fundraiser
RHINEBECK — The Rhinebeck Fire Department, Inc. is conducting a community fund drive to assist with the purchase of a new ambulance to replace the present ambulance which is more than 13 years old and requiring frequent and costly repairs to maintain. The Rhinebeck Fire Department, Inc. has traditionally conducted community fundraising campaigns that purchased the first three ambulances including the present ambulance. They hope to raise $70,000 in the campaign, which is approximately half the purchase price of a new ambulance. Letters have been sent to local merchants requesting support, and on July 10 firefighters will distribute a fund raising letter to all homes within the Town and Village of Rhinebeck where fire protection and ambulance service is provided by the Rhinebeck Fire Department.
