30 May 2011 State Police Issue 163 Tickets During Memorial Day Speed Enforcement Detail On Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day), a team of New York State Troopers issued 163 tickets in less than eight hours between 8AM and 4PM on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Clinton, Dutchess County. 135 motorists were ticketed for speeding. In addition, twelve tickets were issued for failure to wear a seat belt and sixteen tickets were issued for other traffic infractions, including unlawful use of a cell phone while operating a vehicle. The New York State Police will continue to conduct similar operations and traffic checkpoints over the busy summer travel season that target aggressive driving, intoxicated and drug-impaired vehicle operation, and failure to use seat belts and child restraints as required by law.
