Theater TwoThe Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company will conduct a three-week residency at Bard College in May, capping the second year of its educational partnership with the Bard College Dance Program. Bill T. Jones and the full company will take up residence on campus to reconstruct two classic works; continue developing a new work set to premier in 2012; and offer a number of activities including lectures and formal showings.
Dancing to Music (May 18): Bill T. Jones traces the lineage of Spent Days Out Yonder as he discusses pure musical exploration in his work. Lecture includes a showing, accompanied by students of The Bard College Conservatory of Music.
Spent Days Out Yonder and D-Man in the Waters (May 19): Showing of two seminal works accompanied by students of The Bard College Conservatory of Music.
Story/Time (May 27): Work-in-progress showing of a new multidisciplinary evening-length work, inspired by John Cage’s Indeterminacy and marking Jones’s return to the stage, followed by a discussion with Bill T. Jones and collaborators.
