(RHINEBECK, NY) Get ready for the tenth annual Autism Walk & Expo of the Hudson Valley Region, to be held Sunday, April 10, 2011, rain or shine at the track area of the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
“This special event, in its tenth year, is open to the Hudson Valley community to raise funds for local programs, raise awareness and connect families to themany local services available for people living with autism,” said Karen Kosack, President of Autism Society Hudson Valley subchapter of National Autism Society of America, and Founder and Chairperson of the Autism Walk & Expo. “Most important, the Walk offers families and the community an opportunity to share a fun-filled day with their autistic loved ones while supporting a vital cause.”
To date, the annual walk has raised more than $800,000 to fund local programs for the Hudson Valley autistic community, with a small portion dedicated toward research.
“Thank you to all who have made this amazing event possible for over the last 10 years,” said Kosack. “Your support has helped many local families receive needed care and resources.”
